Updated for 4.3 PTR
This file removes all* combat sound files from the game so that you can clearly hear your addon sounds (and also boss speeches!).
I tried to filter out all boss emotes and speeches/events in this version. Mistakes may happen of course, but I'm quite happy with it.
If you want 100% muted ingame sound, check out the other file here.
Installation:
Extract the .rar into /Data directly so that you have a /Data/Sound directory.
* Note:
It may not remove 100% of the combat sounds, especially if Blizzard decided to add a new spell or alter existing ones. Some sounds are pesky little buggers that hide somewhere else. If you identify them, let me know, and I will add them to this file.
This mod was inspired by silverwind's Bossmod Sound Fix (while game is muted). It does however not rely on files with zero byte content but on "real" muted valid sound files (ogg and wav). The zero byte sound files gave me problems while playing addon sounds, where half of them just didn't play.
I don't have this problem with valid files.

- Removed the sound emote from Nefarian's Dominion spell (heroic mode only). He gets kind of spammy there.
- Removed the party member targetting sounds
- Removed two "roar" sounds (Yeti and Mammoth)
- Updated for Cataclysm!
- Re-enabled a sound file which is used by Deadly BossMods
- Sounds for ability used removed
- Aggro sounds removed
- "DeathImpact" sounds removed (fallover sounds)
- Horn of Winter removed
- Fan of Knives removed
- Some warrior ability removed (Raging Blow?)
- Few more files, no clue which exactly
